ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The Cairns Architecture Festival is an annual event that celebrates and promotes architecture in our region. The festival program includes Cairns Open House, a public forum by Parlour and a film screening of the documentary Citizen Jane: Battle for the City. The event is organised through the Australian Institute of Architects FNQ Member Group. The Institute is the national peak body for thea architectural profession consisting of over 11,000 members across Australia and overseas.

The Australian Institute of Architects exists to enhance the cultural, environmental and economic well-being of the community by:

  • advancing contemporary practice and the professional capability of members, and
  • advocating the value of architecture and architects.
